a. The Research Carrier: Opportunities and Risks

  • General introduction will be presented by two young researchers. A social science researcher and a life science researcher will talk about the opportunities and risks that early stage researchers often face. The presentation is based on their personal experience.

Preparing International Grant Applications I – Practical Seminar

  • The goal of the first practical seminar is to understand the basics of project management and budgeting. The students will be shown examples how this knowledge can be used for the preparation of concrete project proposals for international grant schemes (esp. Horizon 2020).

Preparing International Grant Applications II – Practical Seminar

  • The second practical seminar is based on training the acquired knowledge and skills by using examples of international grant applications (namely Horizon 2020). The aim is to understand the system of project proposal evaluation by performing a mock evaluation of proposal examples in groups and to gain practical tips and hints to be able to prepare a successful grant application and beware the most common mistakes.
